by dena on March 17, 2014

When you hear the term “generosity” do you equate it to giving money? Truth is, being generous does not mean you need to hand out hundreds of dollars to complete strangers. In fact, there are several other ways you can show generosity and overall be more generous.

Be Generous with Your Time

Often the second most common action we consider when we think of generosity, time is a free way to give more back to the community and to loved ones. We all have the same amount of time in a day, why not use that time differently and share it with someone else?

Be Generous with Your Patience

Every day we go through struggles, and as the quote from Plato goes, “Be Kind; Everyone You Meet is Fighting a Hard Battle.” Before you lose your temper with someone who may be a bit difficult, be generous with your patience. Take a deep breath in, and relax.

Be Generous With Your Happiness

If something makes you happy or brings you happiness, pass it along! Happiness is greater when shared.

“Thousands of candles can be lit from one single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” – Buddha
